“The Truth About Islamic Jesus”
By C.L Edwards Of Calling Muslims
The imperative question every Muslim must ask themselves is can I trust what Islam teaches about Jesus? My position is no you can’t, and I’m saying this as a African American ex Muslim not some angry alt-right Islamophobe. Islam’s teachings about Jesus rest on one faulty presupposition, that is Muhammad of Arabia received revelation the Quran which talks about the life of Jesus. Islamic Jesus is based on the authority of the Quran and It doesn’t matter if it’s Jesus contradicts previous scripture, history, or reason. What matters is Muhammad is a prophet and his book can’t be wrong. What Muhammad said is the final authority in Islam, but as a free thinking human being I have the right to question this and so do you.
The position I hold is Islamic Jesus isn’t a real person, “he” is a character that only exists to contradict the real Jesus. Discovering this is one reason why I left Islam and put my trust in the real Jesus Christ. I will now list some reasons why all Muslims should reject Islamic Jesus also:
Reason 1. Islam teaches Jesus is the messiah yet it never explains what a messiah is. The Quran does tell us the messiah is of lesser rank than Muhammad and he is a follower of Islam. Quranic Surah 61:6 says:
“And remember when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."}”
The Islamic messiah’s only purpose is to testify about the future coming of Muhammad. This works out great for Muhammad but it doesn’t benefit anyone else. We know there are numerous messianic prophecies in the Old Testament and detailed accounts of him in the New Testament. Islam’s sources say strange things about Jesus that can’t be found in the Bible or any other historical record. The Quran contradicts the messianic beliefs of 1st and 2nd temple Judaism and Rabbinic Judaism. The Quran contradicts the Apostles and the first century church. The Quran contradicts the church fathers and all the great Christian theologians. Is it reasonable to contradict or ignore the earliest most attested sources regarding Christ in order to substantiate Muhammad’s prophethood? That's not how a true religion from almighty God operates that’s how a mind control cult operates.
Biblical scholars have found and documented numerous messianic prophecies in the Bible and Islamic Jesus fulfills none of them. I find it odd that Islam’s false Christ doesn’t have time to validate himself but he has time to predict the coming Muhammad! What the Imam’s fear is if Muslims question what the Quran teaches about Jesus then they will start questioning everything in the Quran and they will lose their control over them.
Reason 2. The Quran claims in Surah 4:157 Jesus was not crucified but instead Allah redeemed him by allowing another man to take on the appearance of Jesus:
“And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah ." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.”
Islamic Jesus is a selfish coward which is the opposite of what was predicted in the Old Testament and what was recorded in the Gospels. Islamic Jesus didn't come to save others instead he came to be saved, this is a false gospel which should be rejected even if a supposed angel came down from heaven and revealed it.
The New Testament is the oldest record of what took place concerning Jesus and it says Jesus was crucified. We have quotes from ancient non-Christian historians confirming Jesus was crucified. We also have the writings of the early church fathers confirming the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus. None of these early sources that all pre-date Islam agree with the teachings of the Islam. Once you remove the presupposition that Muhammad received revelation Islam has no legs to stand on. If the Qurans account of the crucifixion were true that would mean Allah orchestrated a illusion that caused the world to believe the messiah was crucified. Ask yourself why would the true and living God want to do? The obvious answer is the true God would never do that.
The truth is Jesus is the Son of God who came into the world to bare mankind's sins and be the ultimate atonement. The truth is death could not hold him down and after being crucified he resurrected from the grave. The truth is all of this information was recorded in the Bible for you to read for yourself. The truth is what the Quran says about Jesus is leading many astray. It takes courage to turn around(repent) and place your trust where it truly belongs. The real Jesus Christ is the truth the life and the way find a Bible and read about him.
